This past month, we saw the natural beauty of the Catskill Mountains while riding on a vintage locomotive called the “Catskill Mountain Railroad 407”. Catskill Mountain Railroad (CMRR), is a vintage railroad located in Kingston, New York, that began tourist operations in 1982. Believe it or not, the railroad was first built in the late 1800’s, and is still in perfect working condition to this day. We had a fabulous time exploring some of America’s oldest farmlands, beautiful mountains, and breathtaking pastures. This trip meant a lot to two of our residents in particular, Mel and Natalie. Mel, a resident of Westchester, worked in the Catskills for almost thirty years, and hasn’t been back in about twenty. Natalie, a New York City native, spent her childhood in the mountains with her family. It has been over fifty years since she last stepped foot in the Catskills. This trip brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. Everyone had a fabulous time. And thank you to all who helped make our trip to the Catskills possible! Okay everyone, our next extraordinary outing is coming up… Friday, July 19th. We are going to see the fireworks at Rye Playland! It’s going to be a blast.
